What is the function of
MPTS? |

There are three main functions:
1) Button function to remind pedestrians;
2) Glow Gap for evacuate guidance;
3) Tactile guide for visually impaired. |

Where are Tactile Indicators required? |
A： |
Indicators are required to be installed
to an approaching hazard or change of direction
along a path of travel, such as a steps, escalator,
lift or ramp etc. |

Will MPTS a tripping hazard?

A： |
No. According the guideline from Highway
Department, the height of different tactile
guide is between 5-6mm, Sunway MPTS thickness
is 6mm. The design also considers the convenience
and safety for pedestrians and trolley. A
45 degree beveled edge has been incorporated
into the design. Under several long term tests,
this problem doesn't exist. |

Is water can cause problem for MPTS? |
A： |
No.
- Sunway use import S.S. 304 / S.S. 316 to
manufacture MPTS. In general, water cannot
cause corrosion.
- Waterproof industrial double side tape is
recommend using for adhesion to prevent water
run into the hole.
- MPTS have ventilation design, normally water
will not stay too long inside the Bolt. Use
water vacuum cleaner can dry up faster. |

How long can MPTS last? |
A： |
- Dependant on where the tactiles are places
and under normal pedestrian foot traffic circumstances
- The spring and the spring plate have been
testing for more than 10 million steps and
still in good condition. (Please refer to
our test report.)
- The glow material can last for 14 years;
if the layer expired just add a new layer
on top. (Please refer to manufacture report.) |

What surfaces can MPTS installed onto? |
A： |
Sunway MPTS can be installed onto are ceramic
tile, vitrified tile, glass, granite, travitine,
steel, brick, concrete, screed, epoxy, limestone,
sandstone, paver, slate tile, timber, carpet,
parquetry, vitrified porcelain, carpet tiles,
vinyl and masonry. |

Can MPTS be installed outside? |
A： |
Yes. MPTS are made from S.S. 316 and can
therefore withstand the toughest weather conditions
and high pedestrian traffic in public places.

How to maintain the MPTS?
|
A： |
Sunway MPTS can be easily with most of the
industrial type detergents. One of the cleaner
“Swipe” is a good and convenient cleaner for
our products. Method of cleaning is normally
recommended by the detergent manufacturer
on their labels. For diluted cleaner, people
can spray cleaner onto the tactile guide and
wipe with clean cloth. For concentrated one,
people have to dilute the cleaner first and
then apply to the tactile guide and wipe with
clean clothes. |

Will the tactile system get loosen? |
A： |
The reason of get loosen is installer use
glue or epoxy for adhesion, while the glue
or epoxy have oxidation and turn hard, it
will squeeze out the bolt. Sunway MPTS use
industrial double side tape as adhesion, it
will not have the above problem. |

Have MPTS been independently tested? |
A： |
Yes. All MPTS independent tests have been
conducted by the Materialab and passed the
test of ASTM C1028-96. We also have a list
of in house test to ensure our quality. (Please
refer to our test report.) |
